My name is Tabitha and I am a makeup-aholic. There, I’ve said it: I love makeup. Now I’m not talking about a little crush here, I’m talking full-on love affair. I’ve always felt this way. In fact, there are pictures of me as a seven year old dressed up in high heels, my grandmother’s dress, and a face full of the most awful looking makeup you’ve ever seen. But that didn’t stop me, in fact, it only encouraged me. I pushed the envelope like most kids do, begging to wear makeup when I was only 10 years old, throwing a fit when I couldn’t. Sneaking off to the bathroom at school to apply the contraband (sorry Mom) and of course washing my face before coming back home. One of my fondest moments was when I was around 12 and my aunt took me to a store called Eye Natural (don’t know if they’re still around). I came out with a bag full of my first official makeup. Yep, the whole thing - lipgloss, eyeshadow, and maybe even mascara. What I didn’t know then is that you couldn’t really see any of it (the theme was of course “natural”) but that didn’t stop me. I was finally wearing makeup, legally and proudly!
Fast forward to today, some 20-odd years later. My fascination for make-up hasn’t abated, it has only changed a bit. Now instead of putting just any thing on my face, I find myself more discerning and my makeup choices have changed. I prefer makeup that is well-made and is high in quality. And now, along with everyone else, I am looking at organic makeup too. But I will not go willingly, at least not before doing my research. And that is what the “skin care” portion of this site is all about.
I will list my “organic beauty finds” as I, well, find them. This will include anything related to beauty because my obsession doesn’t stop at make-up. Oh no, I have an affinity for soaps, lotions, bath scrubs, you name it. Oh - and definitely hair products. I could write a whole blog just on hair products!
Now unfortunately, I will most likely not be able to try all of the products I mention here (unless some kind company finds it in their heart to send me something) but for those products I have used, I will include my two-cents. I will feature articles and related facts that are in the media. I will also write editorials because this is a blog afterall and it’s kind-of the point.
So there you have it. This is my site. Hope you’ll join me, leave some comments, make suggestions, stay a while, and then come back for more.
